Organic milk and meat contain up to 50% more omega-3 fatty acids than non-organic meat and milk!

  • Organic food is free of toxins and harmful chemicals which have been sprayed on crops for insect and weed deterrents. These chemicals are harmful to our own bodies and have a greater impact on children.

  • There is a higher amount of enzymes in organic produce which allows your body to absorb more nutrients for healthy aging and children growth.

  • Organic agriculture is eco-friendly and more sustainable for the planet. Organic produce is healthier for the planet with cleaner practices that support healthier air, water, soil, and farmworkers.

The clean fifteen The clean fifteen refers to a list of the 15 cleanest conventionally-farmed crops; those are least likely to be contaminated with pesticide residues. If you can’t go completely organic, these are the best crops to buy conventionally.

How to go organic Going organic is an easier switch now, thanks to many more options and places that sell and support organic farms and products.

  • Buy seasonal, direct from local farmers. Buying organic produce from farmer's markets is often much cheaper than getting it from the supermarket.

  • Grow your own herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Even with limited outside space, you can grow some of your own produce. Window sills and balcony containers are ideal for herbs, tomatoes, lettuce.

  • Consider joining and CSA (community supported Agriculture) organic box schemes. Weekly boxes are created and dropped off or picked up with seasonal produce from local farms.

  • Don't be fooled, read the labels. Processed organic foods still can be high in sugar, refined carbohydrates. "free-range" "natural" and "farm fresh" do not mean organic.

  • Buy seasonal produce for the best pricing. Purchase locally and seasonal produce, it's fresher, produce taste better and you save money.
