HEALTHY EATING ACTIVE LIVING

What is HEAL?

The Marin Countywide Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Initiative brings together residents and community partners from throughout Marin to create a road map to improve community health. We are pleased to announce we have received a grant from the Marin Community Foundation for HEAL work with families and providers enrolled in our Access to Quality Child Care program. This program focuses on policies, systems and practices to support HEAL work in child care and support quality. Other opportunities include: more training  for the provider community, on-site work with specialists in different areas, garden and nutrition education and much more!

October 11th is Children Environmental Health Day

Did you know that children are more vulnerable to pollutants found in the air, soil, food and water? Children are also closer to the ground and like to explore with all their senses, what puts them more at risk. Early exposure to chemicals, and environmental pollutants can cause harm to the developing organ system. As child care providers and as parents it's important to learn more about ways that can help support a clean, safe and secure home for children to play in. Here at Marin Child Care Council we proudly support the work of the Children Environmental Health Network (CEHN) by bringing their training and education of Eco, to our child care providers and parents. Marin Child Care Council Supports Children Environmental Health Day on October 11th!

The Marin Child Care Council strongly supports the work of the Children Environmental Health Network (CEHN) and their dedication to child health and wellness. Mc3 believes every day should be children's health day! Every child deserves a healthy and safe child care facility, whether in a home or a center. Mc3 programs bring education to our child care providers and families through trainings, workshops and one-on-one meetings covering topics around children's environmental health. Our HEAL coordinator can help asses and review best practices and work on getting your child care home or center approved and recognized through CEHN's Eco Child Care certification program.
